http://www.brooklynvegan.com/archives/2010/05/camera_obscura_11.html it does indeed! i absolutley cannot wait! i sent my wife the link and she's as hyped now as i am! the only way it could get better for her is to say that Essex Green were playing too - she is a huge fan of them too.. i think i'd rather see Beep Seals but EG would be amazing too..

| I own this picture and came by to show the setlist from may 27th concert: 1. My Maudlin Career 2. Keep it Clean 3. Tears for Affairs 4. Suspended from the Class 5. The Sweetest Thing 6. Honey in the Sun 7. James 8. Forests and Sands 9. Swans 10. Lloyd I`m Ready to be... 11. If looks could kill 12. French Navy 13. Come Back Margeret - Teenager Let`s get out... Eighties Fan Razzle Dazzle Rose They started "Coutry Mile" before Teenager. Tracyanne asked for silence before singing it. People kept talking/making noise, so she stopped and said "maybe next time". I wasn't able to go, and felt bad for missing eighties fan... There's another concert today. I'll put the setlist here later OH, I forgot one thing: there wasn't two encores, only one. | |

heh heh - she does do that.. even heard the ol' f-bomb once at a show! and Yes - a big welcome to another newbie! With all the hooplah over the shows in Brazil, i was hoping to gain a few "obscuraphiles" from that end of the globe! edit: oh and nice pics on your flikr! never been to Brazil and you've got some fantastic shots there..

| nice to see recent setlists posted, theres only one song Im hoping for only one song that I "have to" hear live (F&S), the rest is just icing.
To get Country Mile as a bonus would make me pee my pants, but the venue in Richmond, while a great venue, is notorious for people being shits in the audience in regards to talking during acts.

- Tracyanne got feisty, pausing the song “Pen and Notebook” to say, “If we’re going to do a quiet song…shut the fuck up,” to the crowd below. People were getting rowdy. She was on top of her game. She even added a courteous, “no offense”
i still laugh out loud when i hear it!

| Im dreading the audience at The National on Saturday. Its a really nice venue and deserves to be included in the upper echelon of venues on this coast, but the crowds have been wankers for the shows Ive seen there thus far. This is my last one there though, back to NYC for good shortly.
And yea, my ex is from TO, so that song brings up some wacky memories needless to say. Damn me to hell.

Have seen them 3 times this year alone haha. http://ihave19voices.com/2010/04/25/gigs-review-the-national-live-in-richmond-va-4222010-and-4232010/ They're playing Massey Hall twice this coming week. I'm seeing them one more time at Osheaga in Mtl next month.

I've seen them probably 6 or 7 times in the past, but for over 2 years now. I last saw them at the BAM Opera House in brooklyn, where they recently recorded a live movie with DA Pennebaker. But I will be seeing them again twice in the next 2 months... starting with 2 weeks from now at Radio City Music Hall. (kinda funny, cause I saw them open for Arcade Fire at RCMH in 2007 and NOBODY was paying any attention to them.) But yeah, they are a terrific live act. If you think the records are slow, everything really comes alive in a live setting. I totally recommend seeing them... but they have been kinda blowing up as of late, so tickets have been a little harder to come by. Gone are the days of seeing them at Bowery Ballroom with little to no effort.

| that's cool. for a while there it seemed like the national were playing every month or so in nyc... bowery, rcmh, united palace, south street seaport, mhow, terminal 5, bam... then after those BAM shows, they started playing less frequently and I kept missing them. they played hammerstein and i went to see of montreal instead that night. oh and they played summerstage but i was out of town. i believe they last played all points west last year before the warm up gigs this year, but there's no way in hell you're getting me out into a muddy field filled with 40000 b&t douchebags. unless camera obscura or belle & sebastian were playing. | |

it's software robots, not real people. somebody writes a script, much the same as a search engine works, that crawls the web for places they can post ads...and the script signs up for an account, verifies it, and starts spamming. the script writers are bloody geniuses... even getting around those "type in the fracked up word" boxes. i wish they'd use their powers for good rather than evil...
