i never checked if they released any recent dvd. i should check out their site. they've never released a DVD, nor any sort of official live recording. There's tons of bootlegs out there (which I believe paul just pointed you towards) and lots of radio sessions... but no official recordings. perhaps one day they'll do a B&S "BBC Sessions" or "Push Barman" style compilation... with some of the radio sessions and the Rare UK Bird / Early Singles. I'm not a vinyl hound like the rest of these guys on here, but if you're into that kinda thing... the other regulars are a wealth of information for vinyl collecting.

Ha. Yeah. That's kind of a coincidence. but, yeah, "Breathless" (or "A bout de souffle"... which I believe translates more directly to "With Out Breath") is an absolute must-see. I don't know if you are too familiar with French New Wave... but "Breathless" and "The 400 Blows" are really the two movies from that period that EVERYONE should see. Not necessarily my favorites, but great movies and a terrific introduction to one of my favorite periods in all movie-dom. The Film Forum regularly shows Godard movies, which I've been known to frequent. I know over the past few years I've seen "Vivre sa Vie", "Pierrot le fou", "Masculine Feminine", "Made in USA" and "A Woman is a Woman" there. I know I've seen "Breatless" in the cinema before... but I can't remember where. It was probably the Forum. Anyway... well I highly recommend checking it out. If you're into old movies.

oh an thanks for the opener link Derek! i'll hav to buy you a beer at the show for all your help! Fwee!! I'm getting excited myself for your sake. :) My parents' 25th is coming up in a few days. I suppose it's about the time in my life and theirs where I have to start buying them gifts at these sort of scheduled intervals. Too bad I can't send them to New York for Camera Obscura. Not really their kind of music though. Hrmmmm....

- CAMERA OBSCURA and BROOKLYN FLEA
are excited to announce the "Ice Cream Social" and the debut of live music at the Flea at One Hanson
WHERE: Downstairs in the Vault at Brooklyn Flea, One Hanson Place, Brooklyn, NY WHEN: Sunday June 6th, 2-4pm HOW: http://www.brooklynflea.com/
4AD's CAMERA OBSCURA will be setting up shop at Brooklyn Flea on Sunday June 6th, and performing their crafty brand of critically acclaimed pop for a very special performance which also marks the debut of live music at the Flea.
The band will also set up their very own table and will sell their wares, including some items created especially for this event. Since you can't have an "ice cream social" without ice cream, our friends at Blue Marble Ice Cream will be joining in the fun and have created a special flavor in the band's honor - "The Sweetest Cream" in honor of the band's song "The Sweetest Thing" - available with or without honey - in honor of the band's song "Honey In The Sun"! well - looks like ice cream is on the menu for the 6th!! aw yeah!

i like CO tunes scaled down to ukuleles (spellin?) and tambourines.. refreshing especially with Tracyanne's vocals.. altho this vid has Kenny playin his guitar regular-like - looking pretty bald too... must've got in a fight with a lawn mower! edit: oops... link..... http://pitchfork.com/forkcast/14392-forests-sands/

edit: oops... link..... http://pitchfork.com/forkcast/14392-forests-sands/ Where's the uke? I see kenny on guitar...lee on shaker/tambourine (which is bloody hilarious...the expression on his face is like "yes, i'm playing an egg shaker...shut the $%#& up.")...and tim on trumpet i really love these super acoustic versions. their perfection really shines when unencumbered by the "wall of sound"
