| it is very much taken as read as the best low-fi album pretty much of all time is in an aeroplane over the sea by neutral milk hotel..merge`s saviour mid ninties...it is a fantastic album no doubt, as is on avery island..and a favourite round our way..last night though it were dark, just me and the music....i had just finished listenin to the magic numbers first album and next up was dongs of sevotion by smog,i love this album anyways and managed to pick it up on gatefold for £4 at the booty....anyways i think it is better than in an aeroplane over the sea, better?worse?i hear you think....it is a lost classic, and with two of bills loves eclipsing him in the fame stakes(chan marshall/joanna newsom)i don`t think that will bother him much....this album is a stipped down classic....very minimal, just enough music goin on to call them songs....if you like your your tunes at times not tune full,if you wanna feel alone in the dark, this is your soundtrack...... | |

For awhile I've had Aeroplane written down for adding to my next Merge order. I'm thinking it should just BE my next order, as nothing's coming up on Merge I'm particularly interested in. Merge has got an LP bundle of Aeroplane + Avery Island for $35, which ain't bad for two LP's. It's no four quid though. I wish I lived near music shoppes. | |
