| this is really a question for all of you over in the UK - as i havent seen CO play (yet), and i have only been able to really follow the band since Twitter/myspace/facebook have taken off.. Who has opened for them? Or who have they opened for? I know (and really like..) the Attic Lights and on their US tour, it's been Agent Ribbons. Tracyanne has sung with Peter Bjorn and John (for one song that i know of) and she has written a tune by Taken By Trees and I don't know of any other songs not sung by CO. Any others that are worthy of a listen?? looking for something new and fresh today i guess.. tony | |

| Winter '07 they toured with a band called The Essex Green... who are an indie-pop band from Brooklyn, I believe. Their last album "The Cannibal Sea" is pretty darned good... even if it has a song that's a total B&S ripoff.
Summer of '07 in the states they toured with a folky solo act called The Last Town Chorus (real name: Megan Hickey). She's from New York.... I remember chatting up her mom at the NYC show at South Street Seaport. I never got her album(s)... but totally worth checking out. She does a killer cover of Bowie's "Modern Love".
For this current tour, they had a band called Agent Ribbons, who I don't really know anything about. Assuming they actually play some more shows here on the East Coast... the scheduled opener is a girl named Anni Rossi... who sings AND plays viola. She actually opened for CO a few months back at Mercury Lounge. Really cool act. Quite a sight to see, although the set was pretty short. She just put out an album recently that's also pretty solid. | |

| Perfect! just what i was looking for - the Essex Green are excellent! will be looking up their shows to see when/if they come my way! The Last Town Chorus are great too but hav only had a chance to listen to the 4 tracks on myspace so far. i have already listened to Agent Ribbons when i saw that they were touring with CO in the states - i bet they put on a great live show. finally, i am already a big fan of the Beep Seals and was ticked when they split up a few months ago.. i only have the one album of theirs and have heard the amazin cover they did of All You Need Is Love. still holdin on to the hope that they get back together... thanks again folks! tony | |

| thanks again for some pretty damn good bands - i really have to see Essex Green now but they don't say anything on their site/myspace about current tours... anyone have any ideas? btw - Anni rossi was pretty amazing to see. she actually stands on a suitcase with 2 mics in it to stomp her drum beats - pretty awesome actually. but she only played a few tracks at the CO show and i think the audience (myself included) would've loved to hear a few more.. ah well next time maybe. | |

| Anni was standing on the suitcase when I saw her in DC. All the other times I saw her, she was with a drummer. Tracyanne joked in DC that they were the only ones who knew what was in Anni's suitcase.... When in NY though... Anni let us have a peek. Just some coffee cans. Not too exciting. Probably should have left it a mystery.... | |

| just checkin out the opener for the tour here in Canada and wonderin if anyone has seen the Papercuts afore? i've listened to them a bit to get familiar but there aint much on their myspace.. hope they're good to see. thanks again for the band recommends - i really like Essex Green but they seem to be on an extended break or something and i am still lamentin the loss of Beep Seals.. anyone know what the individual members are up to now? also listenin to and watchin for a tour in Canada by the Attic Lights, Papas Fritas, Boy Least Likely To...man, the list goes on and on! the only band i cant seem to get into (and i know it sounds strange but..) is Belle & Sebastien. i just dont understand the constant comparisons with CO. i find them dull i guess - am i listenin to the wrong stuff? where is the similarity? give me some good tracks to seek out cause i must be on crack or something but they just dont do it for me... tony ps - keep the band recommends goin cause i "discovered" several thru this forum (like Love) | |

| Attic Lights - love 'em, a bit Teenage Fanclub. I get the Belle & Sebastian comparisons with CO's earlier stuff, the wife loves B&S who I have always thought very lightweight, apart from the excellant Lazy Jane Painter featuring the bellowing powerhouse vocals of ex Thrum chaunteuse, Monica Queen.

Monica Queen has recently being doing live backing vocals for James Grant, ex Love & Money, who I rate highly as a singer/songwriter - his new album Strange Flowers has had great critical acclaim.
something which may be of interest - both Dundee bands highly lauded, here's a couple of Youtube links but you should check out their Myspace sites.

| i just checked sites for all the US shows... nothing yet. I'm sure we'll know really soon though.
Maybe we'll luck out and they'll skip the opener and just do "An Evening With Camera Obscura" show, like Wilco just did on their last tour. Have a 2-1/2 hour set or something.
I can dream anyway... | |
