| again with the cover songs... after being wakened in the early am by one of my kids, i trudged to the computer to search mindlessly and found a website that has a bunch of bootlegs. I'm not sure if they are for sale or just a record of this guy's recordings but scrolling thru the CO shows (from 2001 - 2006), I see a few cover songs... there's covers of "Do you believe in magic" - lovin spoonful (at the Cottier Theatre in Glasgow Oct 2003) and "nothing to be done" - pastels (in aug 2003 at King Tut's in Glasgow). wondering if anyone has heard them sing these or (hope hope) have mp3s of these tracks - i did find a cover of "Chicago New York" - Aislers Set (in Dec 2001 at the SPitz in London) on the Aislers Set website. i think its John singing and the recording isnt the greatest but interesting track nonetheless. in several interviews, they cite these songs as some of their top tracks so it'd be great to hear them sing em.. tony oh here's the link to the bootleg list http://geocities.com/mouser19.geo/bootlegs/SetLists/setsCF.html | |

| I don't have a top three, right now, I'm only thinking of one. Somehow "Stop, In the Name Of Love" got stuck in my head the other day and I eventually thought, Woah! That'd make a great Camera Obscura song. Tracyanne's voice is perfect to mimic Diana Ross, and I'd love to hear Carey in the chorus doing the "think it o-o-ver..." | |

| its funny how when you love a band and love the covers they do of sometimes odd songs (odd in the sense that nobody has covered them afore) - yer mind wanders at every cool tune ya hear. I was thinkin the other day from the opposite end of the spectrum - CO covering a hard rock or even "metal" tune. im sure that they could even make me love a rush tune!! bolony | |
