| My favorite B&S album, Dear Catastrophe Waitress, arrived today......in luscious 180gram vinyl. Thanks to eBay.co.uk, I was able to snatch it for a measly 22 USD, (which is practically what a new, non-OOP record costs direct from the B&S store after currency conversion). I have seen this incredibly hard to find gem go for as much as $150 on places like Amazon, Musicstack, and ebay-US, so I am reeling in this deal. Now to find The Life Pursuit. I could have got it for about $30 the same time I paid for DCW, but at that point in time, I just didn't have the cash to shell out for both. Now I can't find it at all except through the usual, bloody expensive, channels. And my never ending search for a decent priced Biggest Blues Hi-Fi continues. Also, I wish Stuart would stop putting outrageously cute girls on his album covers.

| Paul... you make me happy I never became a Vinyl junkie. That shit is pricey! And time-consuming...
I'd never have money to go to shows!
And I must disagree with you on your last statement. I hope Stu NEVER stops putting outrageously cute girls on his album covers! (Although I'm still amazed his blushing bride puts up with his obsession with young, waifish, adorable "indie" girls.)

Not being a Vinylhead, any chance I see a deal for any of those albums you crave, be assured I will purchase quickly on your behalf, and send them to ya. In fact to be honest, I have been subconsciously looking out for a Vinyl copy of BBHiFi during my own "surfs" knowing you were after it, with that gesture in mind. It seems to be a UK release only on Andmoresound. It will turn up, probably from someone having a clear out

Obviously I'll reimburse you... just try to keep the tab under a few hundred. ;) I actually think a person would have more luck, especially with the Belle & Sebastian, rooting through thrift stores on your side of the pond. Graeme seems to have pretty good luck with that, at least. Round here the only thing one can find at second-hand shops is the Glenn Miller Orchestra or bajillion copies of Billy Joel's The Stranger. :P Gavin told me via twitter at one point that Yes, the only vinyl of BBHF pressed was the UK-only release by Andmoresound. Merge never reissued it when Obscura signed on with them and it doesn't look like 4AD has any plans either. Quite a shame. :(

| i`m glad i picked up push barman when i did on triple,it seems really rare and expensive now..i got it for £16..............dear catastrophe was a tricky one to get, then it was everywhere....biggest bluest remains the golden fleece(or fleeced)chance are you an i will end up in a bidding war on e-bay??last one went for £60...i picked up another park & ride last week...for £9..in the chance that i might off load some off the cost against b.b.h....although i would hate to rip off any fellow fan as i think it goes for bout £50 these days................vinyl is so much better than cd.........but summer is comin and i`ll have to make sure i dont melt anythin i cant replace..i had to buy the bbc sessions exactly because i sometimes forget to take it off the turntable in the conservatory...........please excuse me whilst i melt indeed.......... here`s a template to make a t-shirt to go with your new album | |

thats kinda funny as i hav been doin the same thing! even tho the chances of it showing up in this little town are slim but i head to Ottawa quite often and they hav a few record shops i frequent.. also not much of a vinylhead - cant afford the extra cash (always more $$$ than cd here) and maybe i was driven a little crazy as a youngster by the snap crackle hiss of my parents crap turntable and scratched record collection (scratched mainly due to their overly crazy kids)... i do appreciate the diff in sound - its easy to hear when you have a nice setup.. just cant afford the coin as said.. that being said, i do have a vinyl collection but it cannot keep up with the cd one - not even close..
