...about a Fan Club?

What do you think?
I can realize a website (i'm a webmaster) so we can create an international (official?) fan club...

welcome aboard this happy if deserted ship....a fan club sounds interestin if slightly 70`s...i like the idea,may take a bit of work though,what would you be organising...sorry if i type with an accent and hope you understand my rubbish english...............

So i thought about this fan club some days ago...a website with video, pics, lyrics & translation of their songs, a forum (maybe this, why not? great idea Graeme!), competitions...if you have any suggestion feel free to say it loud! I can create the site, but obviously i would need help for contents, translations, news, forum moderation etc...i thought about a great international fan club (if some people likes this idea, i can contact 4AD just to know what they think about)

some days ago?fairplay...i started this forum because seein that camera obscura are on the cusp of greater things it seemed a shame that there was nowhere to jangle bout stuff,the fantastic new album and that, there were a couple on the old band forum overseen by gavin i think.....as i`ve mentioned i belong to another forum which serves the band and the people who belong to the forum very well,for over ten years...so these things can work fine...you may be takin on quite a lot of work? but hopefully you can take your idea forward...worth a try i suppose.........most bands have tried to use the internet in a positive manner...and judgin by myspace and the official site,camera obscura are no exception...no forum though,so here it is for better or worse.......good luck luca.........if you have any joy post a link here,ta............

Well it's about one year that i would like to start a fan club of C.O. but only by some days i've done it seriously, maybe because i didn't knew any other fan's forum in which talking about before...Ok, i agree with you, but (forum apart) do you think that a fan site is not a good idea?

no it is a good idea,but i`m not sure about the translation...a fan club is more like,gatherings,t-shirts,badges and cups with logo`s..(although most of the official stuff is awful) i think your offerin to do a website which has more fan involvement...the band are just about gettin used to the idea that they have fans,i think....i`m 48 and i am a "fan"of camera obscura...but i think there may be a bit of stigma attached to the word.......the forum is a great media have a look here www.shacknet.co.uk i will support anythin ya wanna.....nice one for thinkin it even...........

Yes, you're right Graeme, maybe I have not right explained what i was thinking about...the website you linked to me is very good!
Anyway...it's ok that a fan club is different and better than a fan site...

its got quite the retro feel to it"the camera obscura fan club".....i will have a badge at least(as long as it aint got that daft"film"logo) an nice enamel and brass one.....we`ll see if we can`t get mattel to wop out summit like this.............

What the hell...good job mate! The new layout it's just amazing, i've been far away from this place just for some weeks and...look what you've done! Ehi, any news about the camera obscura's fan site? I'm still interested on this...

I bought the cameraobscurafanclub.net domain about this time last year and am going to let it expire. Guess the whole project got away from me thanks to life, the universe, and everything.
I'm keeping AllTheFriendsWeCanGet.com though, I mentioned before that we might make it a general indie-scot fan site now that belleandsebastian.it has gone offline. (oh i just checked it again, it's not offline anymore, is it?) There's a couple bands we want to support in addition to C/O, like Zoey Van Goey...

But you know, it'll probably get away from me again. If somebody else with web software and design skills wants to have a crack, I've got the hosting all set up. All you need is a properly insane disposition (and PHP/HTML fluency I suppose)

i am definitely high in the insane department but not so hi in the whatever-else-you-need department... looking forward to the site tho!

been so quiet on here of late.. as quiet as the band has been - i'm assuming wonderful summer vacationing all around?! missing the banter here and trying to get my fill on other sites but alas, it aint the same!

yeah the belleandsebastian.it website is online again (and as you can see in my signature i'm the webmaster of it)...i was the one who started this topic because i'd like make the same things i've done with B&S for Camera Obscura...

WOW! i've never been to that site before - it's pretty amazing! i'd LOVE to see that kind of attention and setup done for CO! i wish i was more versed in website creation/running (..and had a few more hours a day to spend on it!!). good job Luca! ..an sorry never visited it before but i'm a little slow hoppin on the B+S bandwagon..

Hello Tony, thanks for the compliments, I saw that you've just registered - well done! My first idea was just to do something that looks like that for Camera Obscura, one of my favorite bands (actually I hope to impress Tracyanne! Ahahahahah) ... concerning the B&S website, sometimes I try to do multilanguage contents Italian -English, but not always succeed!

oh its a great site you have there.. simple yet flashy enough.. i like the discography and downloads sections particularly. gives a chance to hear the tunes which only promotes the band and the DL's of live shows and unreleased material is perfect for the obsessive fans! i can get over not understandin italian easily enough when the site is so nice!

on a side note, my wife and i want to visit Italy more than anywhere else and have tried to get there several times to no avail.. next attempt is 15yr anniversary (in 2014)..

Oh Italy is such a beautiful place, much more than people who lives there for sure (me too, maybe?)...i'm from Rome and i can't tell you how wonderful is...just full of tourist anytime, any period of the year...but you and your wife will be welcome!

it has/is quiet these days buts thats fine...i started this site because there was no-one to jangle with bout c/o and shacknet was about to get pissed off(nah not really but i thought this would be nice)its been okay..i`m surprised that so many fans dont wanna talk much,but in sayin that i think that quite a few are from foreign shores..and as you are aware,english folk sometimes struggle to grasp what i`m tryin to get across....anyways,there has ben plenty of threads an stuff...readin twitter i think the bands are interested inhearin what folk think...and we do know they read this now an again so get workin,no time for self indulgance........

personally, i think this has been great! i know lotsa folks are content to lurk but hopefully (slowly) they will come around and let us know whats what.. i know i was "shy" about posting at first (believe it or not!)- now ya cant shut me up!

aw - that was only the once... i think.. it was just all the slang maybe or short-form.. yer points are easy enough to get and i know many here value your opinion pretty highly - else we wouldna be here huh?!
i hope the band visit here and doubly hope they don't see me as the music-dolt i feel like! haha.. i only wish they kept up that old blog site (http://cameraobscura-.blogspot.com) or used the new one more often.. or even joined here! ahh well
