Yup, 2014. The long awaiting release of Desire Lines has come and gone. The much awaiting new shows have similarly passed us by.
For me atleast, the heavy rotate of Desire Lines which lasted a good 2 months has even died down.
I don't listen to it as much as I was after the several plays a day hammering I gave it when it first came out.
Having said that though, I'm at work with the player on random, and Fifth In Line.. came up and it just shone through!
After all those listens, the album still hasn't gotten stale or lost it's shine.
Such a well crafted song...

It's be ridiculous to expect a new album so soon, but fingers crossed, we got a a tour or two from them.
I'm crossing my fingers for an Australian show I can travel to...

yup..here we go...congrats to gavin on the birth of his son this/last week.....obviously the camera obscura folk have mouths to feedwhich should be good for us. They left their jobs for the most part and obviously need income from their job which is recording and playing live. Tracyanne has hinted at a tour later on in the year of some description and no doubt a few are ready to hit the road again...its new territory for the parents and obviously its toe in the water time but in an interview not so long ago she was thinking that its hardly new to take ya off spring on the road. Oddly I have been listening to them today and they still sound amazing. I think they miss a trick with re-issues especially the earlier stuff on vinyl with the new interest in folk buying proper music. I still hold out for a nice box set eventually with a limited rare bird on 10" thrown in. They may never be in a position to do this but it would be a good money spinner I would hope. So happy new year to all who swing by, I know its quiet but there is lots of great music happening right now and GHTG about to let the filum loose on us and a new B&S for the autumn maybe.............

Yeah a box set would be pretty sweet. Down my way somsone at the local record store must be into them because late last year copies of Desire LInes, My Maudlin Career, Let's Get Out Of This Country, & Underachievers Please Try Harder all sowed up on the shelves, brand new vinyl!
No copies of the new double 7" though:(
None the less, my wallet took a beating.
Would be great to see them back out on the road again. perhaps in a more sustainable form thatn the MMC tour which sounded pretty punishing.
