They don't do any of those songs anymore. John left the band years ago. Kenny does a little backup singing... but no lead vocals at the shows anyway (although he does sing lead on record occasionally). They'll probably just play a couple "oldies" on this tour. I would expect "80s Fan", "Teenager" maybe "Suspended From Class". If you're extra lucky... they sometimes do "Shine Like a New Pin" and "Books Written for Girls". That's about it from the 1st two albums.

| yep sure does derek, books written for girls....i have mixed reaction about that being sung live, its one of my many favourite camera obscura songs...but it makes the set dive a bit when its swingin along.....still nice to hear/see the live vocal to a fantastic song none the less.........its like towards the end of 2007?country mile the band seemed to tire of it,again a fantastic song, and i was surprised to see it bein played on the last british tour..........cos they had swerved it for a while....should they shelve "books written for girls"?...every pun intended.......ta for the info | |

| cant argue with that - some songs are best left at their peak....HOWEVER, having never seen them live, I'm super pumped to hear even one "older" track live! I'd be real happy with Books since it's one of the songs that made me love their music. Possibly thats why theyre playing some tunes from the first 2 albums that they've "shelved" for a while in the UK?? | |

| yes - Im going to see them in Toronto (3-hour drive) on the 27th at Lee's Palace. I've never been to the venue but it doesnt look too too large so it should be an intimate show - can't wait! | |

| Here's a review of the Denver show last night:
Last night: Camera Obscura at the Bluebird Theater
Looks like they're playing "Books" a lot these days.
They also posted the setlist for the Kentucky show on the blog section of the official site:
Sin City please don't take...
They've been playing "Away With Murder". Yeah! Think they'll start doing "The World is Full of Strangers"? Maybe some older favorites like "I Love My Jean" or "San Francisco Song"? hmmmmm....

| funny that you'd want Lunar Sea - i heard it shouted alot on their show back in 07 in Boston (Great Scott was the show i think). i do like the song but can't say I'd shout out a request for that over say "i dont do crowds" or "lets go bowling". i think the reverb in Traceyanne's voice would sound awesome in a cozy pub with dim lights for either of these gems but sadly - i have never heard em live. Anyone know of an old copy kickin around? | |

| I found the setlist from last night's show in Salt Lake City:
My Maudlin Career Swans Honey in the Sun Tears for Affairs Teenager Let's Get Out of the Country Eighties Fan French Navy James Away With Murder The Sweetest Thing Lloyd, I'm Ready to Be Heartbroken If Looks Could Kill -- Come Back Margaret Razzle Dazzle Rose
source: I Saw a Show! Camera Obscura at Urban Lounge, 3 June 2009
So far, no covers or rarities on this tour. Weird... the '07 American tours they broke out "Lemon Juice and Paper Cuts", "I Love My Jean", "San Francisco Song" and some various covers (like "Super Trouper" and some Sonny & Cher song).
