Hi Tony, Like you I saw the request on twitter and obviously I tried to remember any shows but I couldn't. Truth being I don't think the band really bought in to the support from the UK. They seemed to do more radio in America and could always count on KCRW and the likes, they would often do radio in the afternoon and the shows later that day. I totally understand their frustration at the lack of audience in this country. Its always been strange and debated here several times.
The shows at Leamington Spa and say Shrewsbury were like chalk and cheese volume wise. After the boaty success and renewed interest in the band after the break they had taken, was fantastic to see. The talk of the new songs all but finished, the news of the proposed trip to record them at Rockfield and then COVID struck which put a halt to all that. I was hoping that they may have gone more local then to Edwyns gaff but I think they wanted specifically to visit the farm because of the history well documented especially now since the documentary.
The talk of BBC made me think that there maybe a sessions album in the pipeline, the obvious conclusion. We will see, the fact that they by the sounds have a full album ready to go is excellent. If they have and record it, it will be interesting to observe the reaction. I hope they finally get the crowds and attention they deserve. Here's hoping, welcome back.
