Okay, it's been a while and stuff, punctuation,i doubt it, apologies....firstly the venue, this is a great place, excellent food and a perfect venue especially for t &d right now. I haven't heard the album yet as my preferred of the rough trade beige will be sitting for waiting in work,I have been off 10 days or so...so, I had listened to the Marc Riley session when they were on radio 6, to be honest it didn't sound great, quite awkward at times and seemed all over the place, I thought Danny's vocals sounded like they were muscling in on tracyanne. So, things to consider, tracyanne & Danny are not camera obscura ,hard to take I know for the fans who think they have gone forever, what's more tracyanne & Danny do not want to be camera obscura, they are really not a side project, they are the reality here and now and with a view to write more stuff. I know carwyn Ellis a little and edwyns work,I know the album is in safe hands or was,but the songs right now are quite unknown, I have played the preview tracks on YouTube and found them to be excellent. I worried about the numbers who would turn out on a miserable rainy Tuesday night. The support act was one girl on her own called"ark",she was very good and everybody in the room gave her the upmost attention and respect, she was really good. Okay, we were waiting for the band, there was a lot of excitement around me. They came on tracyanne looks great, really happy...it was great to see...last time I had seen her on stage was at hebden bridge, it was great to have her back, there was none of the "hands up if you have bought our album" stuff or the normal free download paranoia, this has weighed heavy in the past, I know...the band sounded fantastic, the balance was perfect and the shared vocals worked a great, the Riley session was theoretically their first show of sorts, it was wrong to pre judge them or the performance but unfortunately this is what happens, when you are a fan, this was only their second show and it was amazing, really sounded great...I don't know the songs yet so couldn't indulge myself in a sing along, they played the whole album and a Daniel Johnston cover"true love will find you in the end"......she seemed so happy to be back, there is a comfortable chemistry between the two, all the songs sounded great, she gets to play guitars Solo's that Kenny McKeeve would be proud of, Clapton,page,Beck,Campbell...hahaha,chicken guitar solo me arse, she even had "fret grease" on her peddle board, next to that damned tin......and then it was over all too soon, the room was full enough, great atmosphere, merch was flying....all in all a great night, with a hometown gig next, and back to Tim and Gene, didn't hang around to try and chat, it woulda been nice...it's been too long, she smiled when she saw me filming when she mentioned they guitar solo coming up, I will get the songs I filmed up here somehow to share, hopefully she realizes that for every fan based video/recording may create a new fan/supporter/customer even......she knows she has to move units,it's a big deal....but more than this the songs, the band sound great, she seems happy to be back.....go catch them stateside if you can,as I said woulda loved to catch up but I was at the brudenell in Leeds the night before, we waited for ages to catch up with Mac, Neil and Sean have known him since before he had the label,he was good fun though, knackered now,sleep......buy the music, go watch them live...ta
