| It is terrible news but hopefully she stays strong as she has fought it off before. The band have cancelled as they would do obviously for their dear friend..good luck carey xxx | |

| I have just found about this, I feel numb.
Young girl, hope some treatment can put this down again and eradicate it forever.

| There's been some nice obituaries posted recently. This one is probably my favourite. Nice quotes from TraceyAnne and Gavin. Even though I'm curious, I like that no one is taking in the direction of will the band continue.

| Carey's death still affects me and to be honest, I only ever talked to her twice. The first time was after the first show my wife and I finally got to see in Toronto at a dumpy but popular bar called Lees Palace. The show was super hot for the audience and more than once, TAC asked for the heat to be turned off. After the show, we hung around to get my album signed and briefly chatted with first Tracyanne and then Carey. She was quiet and seemed shy at first but by the end of the conversation, I could tell she was a strong lady. I think reserved would be a better description in retrospect. The next time we 'ran into' the band was a year later. Again in Toronto but this time we were walking to a bank machine for money before the show and saw the band ahead of us. My wife was practically skipping to catch up and talk to them! So, at the next street corner we chatted with the full band about the upcoming show and where they could find a decent place to eat. We requested 'Suspended From Class' and I recall Carey chiming in that they could do that. I had a few 'pops' at the show so its a bit hazy but I remember TAC pointing to us when they were about to play our request. Such an incredible band! To recall some stranger that you chatted with for only a few moments and playing a request meant so much to us. Anyhow, I havent been on here in too long and sadly, its been quiet on the band front. Just wanted to share how incredible people in our lives can make small but significant differences! Carey has just won a posthumous award for her Charity work... link here.. http://www.clashmusic.com/news/camera-obscuras-carey-lander-wins-posthumous-award
