hiya, some stuff.....well tracyanne has last been spotted in a canoe in france, carey pulling mussels from a shell...there are a few photo`s of an empty rehersal room, gav`s rickenbaker leaning against the wall...i have it on good account that the band have been working hard on the new stuff but to be honest, and you get this feelin from others obscuraphiles, to quote carey, all over their facebook that people are really desperate for some sign of the band,i wonder wether this is a good or bad thing.......hopefully any kind of writers block has been eroded but as i`ve said before, even after all this time there must be a massive pressure on tracyanne, they know when they come out of"hiding"self induced exile,or whatever they will have to jump on a plane and away again, america, mexico, brazil etc....drainin,mr harcourt askin the same questions(again).........this is where they believe their market is i feel....but i was speakin to my mate yesterday, his band was playin in town.....you really have to hammer away and really for maximum exposure you need to play at least 100 times in the year,to reap any sales oppertunities...but to who,and to how many is the thing...the flip side of that and make no mistake is this....whatever, is their job and they need to make an income from doing this thing, the bits and bobs in adverts, films etc are a neccessary part of what they do....it comes forth in every interview...for us,the fans,we rarely consider that, for us its about the songs, the content, the tunes, the performance but importantly it is us who will buy the music and pay to see them play....it would be interestin to see what the balance is between profit from playin/recordin and revinue from airplay is....its great to hear french navy on the telly, not to hear french navy but the comfort felt even by us that the band may be receiving income from it..........francois,victoria et al have been puttin out stuff and doin quite well with the stuff,enjoyable.....the school, allo darlin but really for the bulk of us,this is just something to entertain us until beloved camera obscura come back, one of the bands i`ve followed all their career the pale fountains/shack you hav to be the most pateint with, its always been worth the wait...both brothers(mick & john)have finished solo albums, both equally brilliant....heavenly turned down johns,so its shelved,he says he`s moved on and it`ll never see the light of day....if you`ve seen the film "i am trying to break your heart" you will see there how these"decision makers" can get stuff wrong......anyways,away....of to paris again fridays......see ya`s
