well,we are a quarter of the year through, the arl camera obscura radar is fine tuned but only pickin up periodic signals of any band activity(i am a fan of shack,i am used to this)i was listenin to the eugene show on the way to work, and coachella...and thinkin about grease, cos of the eugene thing(its on of my favs and i was mad for rizzo) anyways, listenin to the audience response at coachella, sounds like they went down a storm....i`m sure they can still get another year outta last years set, winning new fans the ultimate goal...for folks like us,weve seen them play these songs quite a few times...and personally heard them god knows how many times, but they still give me the same joy otherwise i`d flick the switch....puttin seats on arses is what its about for the main part, theyve gotta pay bills like us......i`m sure 4AD will be pesterin soon enough for summit new, payback,i worry about the pressure on the scottish sweetheart...and remember the comment often by nik harcourt.....but for someone who thinks that they`ll "never be happy, maybe for a spell"...reading the short interview yesterdee, tracyanne seems to be in a good place(i know you can never know with anyone)...i wonder if a short trip to europe is in order,a mini tour...or wether they are ready to brave the states again(sooner them than i)but its there job not mine(a week or two in the states for a visit would be great)....maybe a bit of house huntin in austin texas,hahahaha..it might be time to settle down...........

radar is definitely fine tuned.. i've been browsin old sites and random sites to find tidbits to tide me over.. came across this one and was hesitant to post but since you gave me the "in"... its too cute not to share!
http://www.undertheradarmag.com/interviews/camera_obscuras_tracyanne_campbell/
who could not fall in love with such a great grin huh?! i'm gonna have to dig up an old school pic to be fair but rest assured, it wont be so cute and much more embarrassin!
a trip over here wouldnt be too bad.. they should visit grand ol' kingston, ontario methinks! hahaha! i can dream tho.. i'd make the trek down to NYC in a flash or try out t'other direction to Buffalo.. anyhow we'll see when they tell us.. it'd be really cool to see them in Paris whilest we're there but the odds are slim for that kind of coordination.. i do hope they keep the spirits high and the music coming.. curious to know the kind of pressure a label puts on a band.. i know they must exert enough and its directed at creativity which is never easy.. anyhow, i'm settled in for a wait and would be content with more radio sessions this year.. cant get enough of them..

the missing year.... 08-22-10

And the sun danced across the surface of the river
We smiled as we pulled ourselves together
Drunks threw boules on the sand sur la plage
Hacksaws bit through the metal love locks
We watched our key sink like our heavy hearts
Shattered dreams of a love that would last forever
On the wire fencing across le pont des arts

haha - thats great! he actually looks just like a kid my wife watches before n after school.. well, i guess the kid looks like him!

just trying to get my fix on live shows for this year.. gotta have something to look forward to y'know.. i see Teenage Fanclub are coming to Toronto again - 2 shows in Sept!! absolutely will not miss those! got a great old friend lives out the other direction so hopefully can meet in the middle as it were..
i may go to the submarines show there next month but just waiting to see if it fits in the budget.. i like the husband/wife duo thing they have..
trying to find some other good shows to see but cant seem to find anything today... at a bit of a loss.. any reccommends out there??

Don't know if Wye Oak is coming by you soon (they are coming near my town next week WHILE I'M ON VACATION 1200 MILES AWAY. OMG) but their new album "Civilian" is just stellar. Go see em if you can! Probably a cheap one.
