| OMG, Derek!!! I saw that and I was so excited!!!! Especially because they are probably coming to Brazil later this year! It's been so long since the last time B&S were here, I think it was 2001... I was 16 and didn't even know who they were. I won't miss it this time!
This year has been amazing for me, music-wise: first I get to see Camera Obscura, then Regina Spektor and now Belle & Sebastian!!!!! It is too much for my little heart.

| According to Wikipedia, there's a new Concretes album coming in October. I dug around on the website and couldn't find any official word, but there are photos of the album art and a title: WYWH. http://theconcretes.tumblr.com/ No idea if Victoria is going to be on it...crossing my fingers. | |

No idea if Victoria is going to be on it...crossing my fingers. Victoria hasn't been involved with the concretes for a few years now.

A guy can dream! Hey I haven't even given up on David Gilmour and Roger Waters reconciling. Though with no Rick Wright, I don't really want a new Pink Floyd album. :P

| some new stuff (for me!) as Pete requested... lets see... been listenin to Telekinesis! as mentioned afore by Paul - they're in the vein of Love Language and there's a nice thread started by Paul here.. https://cameraobscura.forumotion.com/camera-obscura-f1/telekinesis-t259.htmVery Truly Yours as threaded by Sixthofmay here... https://cameraobscura.forumotion.com/camera-obscura-f1/very-truly-yours-t257.htmThe Frank & Walters - not sure where i picked them up but theyre an alt-rock band from Ireland.. listenin to "grand parade" which is from 97 but new to me.. the new Drums self-titled LP.. i love these guys - i think i heard bout them from one of Carey's twitters?? cant recall exactly but they get alot of rotation in the player the Afternoon Naps - again, dont recall how i found them but theyre pretty good indie pop - especially like the female-vocal songs like "The Day We Started" hmm - myspace here... http://www.myspace.com/afternoonnapsband and a band called Band of Horses from the us.. check out "is there a ghost" here http://www.myspace.com/bandofhorses ..they seem huge but i've only come across them recently.. i see theyve actually shared a stage with pearl jam (altho theyre not very rock or alt) and hav 7million hits on myspace but dont hold that against em! hope that helps fill some of the gaps between albums as it has fer me! bolony | |

| Ever since I got a piano a month or so ago, I haven't felt like listening to much music. It's been odd.
But I've been on a Concretes/Taken By Trees kick lately myself, and playing all my Catherine Ireton stuff over and over again at the office. Broken Bells has taken a permanent seat in my car's CD player for the last month. Been neglecting a long list of bands I found via Pandora, guess I haven't been in the mood for anything new. Think next I'll finally check out The Drums or get that new Vaselines album.
I see Write About Love has already been leaked, but I'm sitting on my hands nonetheless. It'll be on my doorstep by October 10.
That said...
Bishop Allen's Grrr.... is worth a listen. I'd call it minimalist pop folk.

| Been a bit quiet on the new stuff front, but i've been a busy boy. I would however declare Magic Kids' 'Memphis' LP as a work of pop genius. Also Ariel Pink, John Grant, Gigi's 'Maintenant' is an album that will be adored by CO fans. It's sublime. And err the B&S album has leaked. It's a grower for sure. | |

| wow - when it rains... now i've got some more searching to do! thanks for the tips folks.. i came across a band this morning called "Thunder Power" - hilarious name but sounds nothing like what it would suggest. they've only got 2 eps from what i can tell but they add up to a pretty nice little album... came across them on the last.fm discussion about CO oddly enough - was a band member tooting his own horn. glad he did tho! he cited "heavily influenced" by CO music an cant argue that. worth a listen! bolony
<edit> can find eps here... http://store.saddle-creek.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc? ...only 5 or 6 bucks each

| I'm hijacking this thread to put it back on the subject of the initial post.
What do we think of the new Clientele mini-album, Minotaur?
I've heard mostly glowing reviews, folks on the Merge forum call it the greatest album they've ever produced. I don't really know what to think of it myself. There's some killer tracks, and I like the lo-fi[ish] recording style, but I dunno, I haven't been able to get into it as well as the last two. Anybody else's thoughts?

| I was listening to Stuart Maconie's Freak Zone and the new Jon Brooks (D.D. Denham) release, 'Electronic Music In The Classroom' sounds quite weird and wonderful! - www.cafekaput.blogspot.com
He also makes quite lovely music as The Advisory Circle for the Ghost Box label - www.ghostbox.co.uk
