I always wondered why this always comes up next to CO on Youtube, then got the Concretes connection, but only disovered tonight the song was written by our very own TC. Sorry if its common knowledge among you all and its been posted before

Yeah it's just Tears For Affairs, but in the comments someone says TAC is blind and has had reconstructive tongue surgery. Seriously if that were true, she'd be the most frakking amazing person on this planet. LOL. Where do people come up with this stuff? Maybe that's why she quit film school.

Tracyanne and Victoria are friends. Victoria is over in Glasgow a lot they sometimes DJ together. I met Tracyanne in April and she was telling me how amazing the new Taken By Trees was as she had a copy of it. I went to see Taken By Trees last year when they played in Stirling with The Pastels it was an amazing gig. You should check out both their albums Open Field is excellent as is the new one.
As for Lost And Found I would love to hear Camera Obscura do this but Tracyanne said she had written it for Victoria so we probaly won't hear it although I'm sure a demo must exist.

Yeh Steve, you can hear TC's trademark tunery and lyrics running through it....defo one I'd like to hear her sing.

Although similar, Victoria's vocal is more of an aquired taste for me, though I see she's a bit partial to the odd unespected cover version too !

I take it Paul, that TC was at Glasgow Uni doing film studies once upon a time ?

Where does TC DJ and what kinda stuff ? I doubt it would be a techno acid party night !!

I don't really know. But in their first Classic Cafe interview (2006) when talking about how the band formed, she mentioned she was in college for film studies or something like that.

i too find Taken By Trees a bit too much "mello" if you will.. she has a great voice and i do like the Concretes lots - just not that into her solo stuff (..yet?)

i remember Carey mention that they dj'ed the day that Maudlin opened and checked myspace..

while i was chekin those i came across one in feb/08 .. "Gav hosting a weekly club night called Back to Mine at the Flying Duck in Glasgow" - he prob doesnt do that anymore but ya never know...

i'm way over here in Canada and dont have the luxury of a private jet or anythin so havent been to a dj show (..yet!?) but i bet would be interestin to hear the music played

Hi Pete,

Tracyanne and Carey do the occasional DJ thing in Glasgow. Last one I was at was My Maudlin Career launch night where they both dj'd in Mono. Music was varied no techno if I remember correctly.

Seems MONO is the place and they even have links to the CO website, http://www.monocafebar.com/ as well as links for their managers label.

Will be back in Glasgow next month...might check it out

Taken By Trees are extremely mellow... their new album is just plain weird. I did it. But it's very strange. Saw them play maybe a year and a half ago... great show. But again, mellow. And she is so shy! The first time I saw Victoria was at a Peter Bjorn and John show when she came to do her guest vocal on "Young Folks" (which TC has been known to do on festival dates they've played with PB&J)... she just seemed really uncomfortable being in front of a crowd.

Victoria also DJed between sets when I saw Camera Obscura in Brooklyn earlier this year. I kinda forget what she was playing because I was so psyched about seeing CO for the first time in 2 years! But I went up and said 'hi' and she was real nice and polite. (I've heard comments about Victoria that she's kind of an "ice queen", but I think she just comes off like that because she's incredibly shy.)

seriously tho, I'm not taken...by Taken by Trees, but I do really like the song - its actually quite hard to play and sing even though it sounds so simple

ha. Yeah.. it's earphones. If you aren't too into Taken By Trees... her first band, The Concretes is a LITTLE poppier.

Excellent news re Tracyanne dj'ing hopefully she'll get up and sing Lost And Found that would be a treat.
