My Maudlin Career track order

My Maudlin Career track order

I rearranged my playlist for the album slightly:
08 - My Maudlin Career.flac
01 - French Navy.flac
02 - The Sweetest Thing.flac
03 - You Told a Lie.flac
04 - Away With Murder.flac
05 - Swans.flac
06 - James.flac
07 - Careless Love.flac
09 - Forests and Sands.flac
10 - Other Towns and Cities.flac
11 - Honey in the Sun.flac

Something just isn't right with French Navy as the first track, and My Maudlin Career is much more fitting to me. I even burnt the CD for my car in this order..

I quite like how Maudlin as an album fills out in its original order, though Honey In The Sun has always felt out of place. (Though oddly, it doesn't feel so awkward on the vinyl album) But I know what you're doing here. I've done the same to other albums, and I did the same with God Help The Girl - not so much rearranging tracks as adding in the Stills EP along side. One of the advantages of the digital era we live in I suppose. There must be SOME good to come from those 0's and 1's! :)

probably maudlin is a good kicker offer because often it starts the live set...and it kinda of announces"here we are"

Completely agree, completely I've always, from Day 1, thought this track was in the wrong place and should have been the opener.

Other towns and cities for a b side, or to end close the album.

yeah i agree - i like the order of maudlin myself but i have definately been prone to rearranging for car cds... and i did EXACTLY what you did paul and put my stills ep on it too... it has 5 simply incredible tracks on it - i think psychiatrist may even be my fave GHTG song... also threw on marys market from Funny little frog ep. all well worth the purchase!

it has to be a lousy track for me to remove it from a playlist or a car copy of a disc... i like to try and honour what the band (or producer) thinks is the "correct" order of tracks... whats wrong with French Navy as an opener? i love how it bangs on right off the bat and gets me (and my kids) dancing or hopping...

really?? again, i love this tune right where it is... i cant shake the image of it live with just TAC and Kenny on stage... i was enraptured - hell, the whole audience was! and its place before Honey provides an even bigger bang for Honey than if its was a more up-beat track say.. dunno guys, i like the order here...

talkin' maudlin blues, baby. "french navy" is a kickin' opener. i think maybe people just feel that "maudlin" should be the first track just because that's what they've been opening with on the past few tours. and it's awesome.

but that album is perfect. wouldn't change a damned thing.
