| Over the course of the past 3 weeks, I've been drawing silly doodles while at the laundromat. And afterward, spending company time to color these doodles with Photoshop. Here is the result of my attempt to cartoonize our beloved band: It might be a bit more endearing if, say, I was six years old, but alas, I am slightly older. And I still can't figure out how to color inside the lines! From left to rightCarey - Scarlet Ibis Tracyanne - Swan Lee - Lemur Kenny - Some sort of large cat (he was going to be a jaguar, but I realized K plays a Jazzmaster, not a Jag) Gavin - Dinosaur or Crocodile, I haven't decided which. If the band ever sees this, I'd like to apologize to Tracyanne and Carey for not drawing clothes on their respective doppelganger. If you've ever tried to draw clothing on a bird, you'll forgive me. And if you haven't, well, it's REALLY DIFFICULT. | |

But you have defo TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS son.... :-) Actually I wish I had more time! The Laundromat doesn't have WiFi, so it's a tough choice between fulfilling my ink-lust, or catching up on the piles of books I haven't read. Doing further work on the drawings while at the office keeps me from going insane. I'm doing this sort of crap constantly, it's just that this time I decided to feature Camera Obscura. Sort of.

| :) thanks folks. though my favorite comment received so far was via twitter, where the person called it, "Disturbing!"
graeme: i will defo stick it on a t-shirt, though i have some touch-up coloring to do first, add some stage props, and i want to redraw "Carey". then i'll get it printed on 12x18 (i work at a printshop) and see if i can get the band to sign it next weekend. | |
