"What ya talkin' about Willis ?"

| hahahaha..there is a festival called all tomorrows parties(a.t.p)..that is hosted every year...the bowlie weekender(1999)hosted by belle and sebastian was held at camber sands, since then it has become an annual event...this year camera obscura are going to play the first weekend..me and my friends have booked two chalets for the wekend after(the second event hosted by matt groening)which is a shame because i would really have liked to see the camera obscura show(althoug it will only be about 30 mins long)but you never know they may stay at butlins for the whole week,so they can watch the second weekend of bands.....
lost in translation.......................

| Thats something I will need to try, a week at Butlins with loadza gigs Sounds pretty civilised too, with the chalets etc and all the facilities on site. Don't recognise many bands in the line up to be honest, but thats maybe something I should be investigating at the w/e. I've always done T in the Park, but it's just got far too big and corporate, with the same old music for the masses "chart" bands playing. I rarely go near the main stage or the NME outdoor stage and prefer seeing bands in the tents. Kinda dawned on me last year how much I was paying for the weekend, paying through the nose to help subsidise the big headliners who I rarely care for anyway. Much prefer to get away from the masses and see something more intimate and special. CO were obviously the surprising highlight of the w/e for me last year. Headliners on the Sunday last year were Blur, I wanted to see them because thought it may be my only chance to see them together again, but they turned up late, and I had to endure almost 2 fricking hours of Snore Patrol - this was absolute torture, never mind them announcing they were gonna keep playing until Blur turned up. I would have preferred them to just fuck off and give us some peace and quiet | |

| atp is great, usually 10 of us go.....the line-ups are massive..and over the years theyve had some great stuff..its an annual event for us now and has bin for a while..they joy of it is/there is a pool/footy pitches...you can wander into the local town for breckkie and a nose...you can meander back to the chalet for a drink or coffee and biscuits, maybe a nice home made shepherds pie...erm i love atp..pity matt g hasn`t got the same line up for here as he had in 2003 in the states, the shins, cat power etc........... | |

| Yeh, its a great idea. Kinda getting fed up of the camping/roughing it for 4 nights. Pity I'm only finding about this now. I was listening to the Shins this w/e as a result of a 'Bolony post - seems like there's a whole US scene I've been missing out on. Stopped buying NME about 2 years ago which was my main source of finding new music - got fed up of all the shyte they seemed to be promoting. Realised I was not getting much pointers for new stuff as I've more less stopped going to gigs unless it's someone I really need to see. To be honest nothing was floating my boat, so you can imagine what a bolt out of nowhere its was to experience CO last year at T for the 1st time.
Last w/e was the 1st CD's I bought in a long time - apart from tracking down and getting all CO's back catalogue.
