| So is this 7" release out today (7th December?). Should I be rushing to the shops to snap one up? Supposedly the band signed a whole bunch of copies while in the US and these - I believe - were on sale during the last few dates of the tour. Did any make it back to the UK for sale here? www.recordstore.co.uk isn't even showing the single at all and the Camera Obscura website has a 7" listed but no sign of any signed limited edition?
I struggled to find the 7" single of The Sweetest Thing in the shops and ended up buying it online.
Maybe I should nip into Mono asap?

| i would, i can see this bein a pain, hmv haven`t got it,probe ain`t..in the end i tracked one down at rough trade london...i was in picadilly records manchester on sat, said to blokey behind the counter"got the blizzard in by camera obscura"..he dissappeared behind the the wall, came back with computer says no...and there is no such album,i said no its a 7" single...he dissappeared again, like mr benn....nope there isn`t a 7" single by c/o called that...i put him straight...he dissappeared again...came back with"sorry we may get one next week, and sorry to try an correct you"its cost me £6.00 from rough trade...erm thanks very much...to be honest i`m a bit pissed off about it......yep sell them from the stall on tour, but they are gonna run out i reckon...i don`t think that there were that many made like...so sooner rather than later or there will be a gap in me stack...all in all its already too expensive an will go up in price no doubt when the e-bay fuckers get involved...........whilst in picadilly records i bought the david lynch album on promo vinyl...looks like there`s a label problem and it might not see the light of day now...which will make it a nice little rarity..i also bought the girls album.....they gave me a little best 2009 booklet,my maudlin faired very well, getting album of the year by two folk in there.........

| Hm. I'll see what I can find tomorrow in the REAL WORLD of ACTUAL SHOPS.
It's not listed at the HMV website at all, which is a nonsense! None showing as for sale on ebay as yet. I got Sweetest Thing online for £3.49 including p&p but then that wasn't signed or anything like that.
Official UK release date is definitely supposed to be 7 December.

| Hi Steven - I got most of em now for under £5. I need 80's Fan and Keep it Clean, there was 1 of these on amazon but they seem to have caughtened on how rare these things are - My best buy so far was rare bird ep from Japan for < £20 or something - couldn't believe I got it I think there was only 500 of these pressed or something ? I'm not an obsessive collector, but need to get the B'sides to play on my "rig". Derek posted a list of B'Sides so trying to get these and the all the livecasts that Tony posted. Pete | |

i looked when they came to TOronto and they didnt have any signed 7". the cd was of blizzard only and it too was unsigned... i scooped a copy anyhow and waited after the show but the fookers at the bar kicked us out afore the band came out (if they were going to - usually do, dont they?).. ticked about that some they also had 7" of sweetest thing but that was it - i was on the prowl for some other singles as well.. i hav mp3s from blog sites of most songs but i want real copies and better quality ones at that.. alas a poor fella like me cant afford the damn ebay prices and amazon here is pretty steep as well for the ones i need.. eventually Santa will come round and all will be well here! tony

I suspect that's paying for her tour! Yeah, I saw that a couple of weeks ago and was taken aback - it's for John Lewis I think? Anyroads ... yes, The Blizzard is around in the UK now. Got one today at Monorail in Glasgow for £3.99 - straight out of the delivery box. It's not one of the fabled, mythical signed copies though :-( Asked at Avalanche previous to this but they said "Not in yet." No matter, because what I did pick up in there was a promo CD copy of The Sweetest Thing/Tougher Than The Rest for £1.99. Yes. I know. It was all I could do to stop from myself from doing a little dance in the shop.

TAC is dj'ing? That's awesome! Also funny... because the first CO show I saw this year (in Brooklyn) Victoria dj'ed. She must be the shyest person on the planet. Makes TAC seem as outgoing as the Fonz.

Ha ! after the recent gig where TAC sorted out those chatty "fans" ....TAC is the Fonze !! PS I love you was on recently, and Gavin & Stacey, as well as the John Lewis add - I just wonder how many people hear the trax and decide to find out who it is ??? TAC DJ'ing - wouldn't it be really funny if it was all hardcore techno or metal Can't see it tho Pete

| I saw a tweet just in time to catch it but I had no way of recording the live stream.
Good version, quite funny with loads of winter wind and horse neighing sound effects!
Nice chat with Tracyanne and Carey re: cheesecake, school athletics (throwing the cricket ball) and lack of assertiveness.
I shouldn't say this but doesn't Carey have a lovely speaking voice? An odd mix of accents (home counties English with Scottish inflections?) but I could listen to it all day!
