Ok now I'M jealous. Still a relative newb to C/O, I doubt I would have been one of those VIP's like you, but nevertheless, sounds like a breathtakingly remarkable night. Damn, if I didn't have less than the cost of a tank of gas in my checking account right now, I'd plan on driving the 6-8 hours for the in-store show in STL next Tuesday. It obviously would be worth it!

Oh yeah, and I also have a life and responsibilities to take care of... I'm ****ing 22 years old, shouldn't I be the one following my favorite band around the country? This is the time in my life where I'm supposed to be completely self-centered, using my resources solely to cater to only my own selfish whims. It's a world gone topsy turvy!

Hey Derek,

That sounds amazing The Last Song is such a brilliant song and for Tracyanne to sing it just for you guys well that takes some beating.
I was lucky enough last month to have Echo And The Bunnymen do an instore in my store and I was sitting with Ian McCulloch and he asked what song they should start with. I said Rescue which is my fave Bunnymen song and he said 'Cool we'll do that first then" and they did.
Not as amazing as having Tracyannne sing to you but I was blown away,

Steven

holy friggin crap! you are damn lucky!! and persistent! i had to check back how many times you said you saw them..11 before these 2 shows...Im SO jealous!!..to be remembered as a good and worthy fan by a band you adore! simply marvelous. but i really shouldnt be surprised because they are great people, really down to earth - an by all accounts, folks who are sincere and truly listen to their fans who stay to (s)talk to them! Smile
they honestly seem like people i would like to hang out with just drinking pints during a match or watchin a flick - an i really cant say that about many people (let alone bands i like). an that is despite the fact that i dont hav much in common with them...at least when i read the "profiles" section of their website (man, i dont know what half the stuff is!)
whew - i'm just happy for ya and know that this band is worth alot more support than even i put into it...

this all sounds pretty great like...i was road crew for the bunnymen in 1984 steven, mac is a right fucker...the rest are/were sound.......................to have tracyanne sing and play for you after the gig was a right treat......they are just like us really, sure they play/sing etc...............but that is all you can ask for in a group who`s art you admire....and it goes without saying around here they should be supported at all cost...........

amazing. best. night. ever.

OMG when Pete reads this he's gonna be so frakkin' jealous. HAHAHA.
Sounds fantastic mate. Too bad you didn't have a pocket DAT recorder hidden up your sleeve. .... .... or did you? Wink

Frakkin' jealous ??? My heart skipped a beat, I've only met TAC once and she was adorable, to be honest, I get all tongue tied and don't know what to say, which is something for me Very Happy Sounds like the band sounds refreshed after their wee bit of time off. You lucky people !!

hey welcome to the forum plaind!
i took a pic of the setlist after the show and ya missed one - Teenager was right after Tears For Affairs...

it was a pretty great show in TO and i had even more fun than earlier this year but was also much drunker... with some of the chats earlier on the other posts about the fans and how subdued we are.. my wife and i were originally sitting up on a balcony but the sound was sucky and were too far so we ..ahem.. elbowed (politely) our way to the 3rd row or so and started dancing like nutbars. it caught on a bit with the folks immediately around us but still somewhat calmly. too much fun anyhow! they played lots of upbeat as you can see and got some cheers for "freeze like a river in Toronto"...but my highlight happened BEFORE the show.. my wife found us a nice little hotel about 2 blocks away and we walked to the club at about 7ish - doors open at 8 but we wanted to be head of the line..well, no line and we walked in and were told to get out since they werent open yet..oops. so went for a walk to get some cash and we were walking behind some blond guy in a big coat - kinda looked familiar (from back of head) an then realized it was CO! the rest of them were about 6 steps ahead of Gavin.. i whispered to my wife that that was them and she hopped up and down excitedly and Gavin looked at us like we were weird (we are) - anyhow got to chat it up as they were searching for some food. tried to convince them that we werent stalking them - just looking for a bank machine ...in the same direction as them... hm, anyhow - i get too friggin shy around famous folk and try to act all non-chalant... so didnt get to really talk to them.. mostly just annoy i think Rolling Eyes whatever - i was pretty pumped to see them play and had another great night! thanks CO!!! [if ya read this Smile]

glad to hear you had so much fun, Tony. I'm still riding the high from last weekend. Probably my favorite CO shows ever.

By all accounts, our favorite Glaswegians should be back in North America next year. I highly recommend doing a little road trip and seeing them more than once on the tour. So much fun! If the Buffalo show weren't the night before Thanksgiving i would have headed up to that one too.
